FREDA LENORA COLLINS
1935 - 2009
Longtime Shawnee resident, Freda Lenora Young Collins, 74, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2009.
She was born February 7, 1935 in Prague, Oklahoma, to Silas and Virgie Kirkland Young.
She graduated from Prague High School.
She married the love of her life, Glen M. Collins on December 27, 1954 and they enjoyed 51 loving years together.
Freda took many different crafting classes and loved to sew.
She worked at the Lake Ranger Office with her husband for 38 years, and they also raised deer together.
Freda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and special friend and will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Lorrie Ann Collins; four aunts, one uncle; in-laws; one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law and two nephews.
Those left to cherish their memories are her daughter, Dixie Collins of Shawnee; grandchildren, Matt and Ashley Collins, and Tyler Collins; other family members and our special family at Healing Touch.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 5, at Resthaven Funeral Home with Pastor Herman Searcy and Pastor David Brassfield officiating.
Burial will follow at Kellerby Cemetery.
