WALTER W. COCHRAN
1927 - 1998


Walter W. "Chief" Cochran, 70, Prague, died Friday in Oklahoma City.
He was born August 20, 1927, in Shawnee to Walter Lee "June" and Juanita Harjo Cochran.
He graduated in 1945 from Paden High School and served in the U. S. Navy.
He married Jane Hall in Prague on December 22, 1951.
He worked for Grimes Farm Store, Prague, from 1949 until he and his wife bought the business in 1971. He also operated Cochran's TV and Appliances until retiring in February 1998.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Prague.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; mother-in-law Christiana Hall, Prague; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ray and Pat Hall, Seminole; Johnny and Betty Hall, Prague; and Jim and Carol Hall, Purcell; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doreatha and Arlie Johnson, Prague; uncle Clifford Harjo, Tulsa; aunt Viola Harjo, Byng; and several cousins.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Prague, with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating.
Burial will be in Prague Cemetery.
