ALLEN WARNER CHRIST
1942 - 2016


Allen Warner Christ, a longtime Yale resident, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa with his family by his side at the age of 74.
Allen was born on January 14, 1942 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Alvin and Reba Allen Christ.
He grew up in Yale, graduating from Yale High School in 1961.
He worked for a short time before enlisting in the U.S. Marines. Allen served his country during the Vietnam Conflict, retiring in 1982 after serving his country for 20 ½ years.
He married the love of his life on Jean Jester on May 7, 1962 in Yale during his leave during boot camp.
His family lived in California, Hawaii and Texas while he served in the Marines. After retirement, they moved back to Yale. He worked in construction on framing crews for many years.
Allen was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Post 161. He worked behind the scenes for the Boy Scouts.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors and playing with his grandchildren. He liked to visit and keep up on everything in Yale.
Allen is survived by his wife, Jean of the home, daughter, Rene Brown and husband, Mark of Snook, Texas; son, Allen Wylie Christ and wife, Kati of Edmond; sister, Winetta Lamb and husband, Ron of Drumright; grandchildren, Vanessa Richart and Adam, Cory Roberts, Tracy Hoover and Christopher, Justin Brown, Dallas Jackson and Tyler, Emma, Tony, Adam and Ella Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cathy Hagmann.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Yale.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Yale. Pastor Barry Richards will officiate.
Interment will follow at Avery Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale, Oklahoma.
