1924 - 2012
Francis Marie Brauer Carter was born on January 21, 1924, in Okfuskee county, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2012, in Irving, Texas at the age of 88.Marie, the daughter of Henry Herman and Sally Jones Brauer, was a lifelong resident of Prague until her recent move to Texas to be near her daughter.She married Warren Carter on July 13, 1945 in Okemah. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2001.Marie was a homemaker, worked for the Prague Schools nearly 20 years, and a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church.Her parents and brother, Junior Brauer, also preceded Marie in death.Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Chris Wilson of Flower Mound, Texas; brother, Emil Brauer of Stroud; sister, Lena Pruett of Prague; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Mike Haines officiating.Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery in Prague.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, Oklahoma.
