Jonie Renay Byrd was born on June 13, 1995, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 20.Jonie, the daughter of Steve Wayne and Michelle Renay Wright Byrd, was a life-long resident of Prague.She graduated from Prague High School with the Class of 2014.She was a member of Prague First Baptist Church.She played basketball in junior high and loved watching the OU girls’ basketball team as well as the Prague girls’ basketball team.Jonie was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Carol Bailey.Survivors include her parents, Steve and Michelle Byrd of Prague, maternal grandparents, Glenda and Jerry Clifton of Norman and Billy and Cindy Wright of Shawnee, paternal grandparents, Marion and Lois Byrd of Oklahoma City, aunts and uncles, Sherry and Mark Cox of McLoud, Debbie Partain of Noble, Leigh Ann and Lee Shelton of Shawnee and Catina Wright of Norman as well as other numerous family and friends.The Byrd family will receive friends on Friday, July 24, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Mike Matlock officiating.Interment will follow at Little Cemetery in Seminole.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
