DONALD JAMES BURROW
1927 - 2009


Donald James Burrow, 82, of Tryon, Oklahoma died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in Tryon.
He was born on June 23, 1927 in Cogar, Caddo County, Oklahoma to James Dudley Burrow and Melessi Louise Kirkland.
He married Lettye Mae Martin on August 23, 1955 in Chandler, Oklahoma.
He attended schools in Arcadia and Perkins, Oklahoma. He served in the U. S. Army Infantry during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany from 1950 to 1952. He was in the Reserves for four years, and was honorably discharged in 1957.
He worked at Midland Refinery from 1955 to 1969, and he also worked in oilfields and was a retired farmer, one of his greatest passions that he dedicated the majority of his time to.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Tryon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter, one son, Donald James Burrow, Jr., three brothers, Cecil, J. D., and Paul, and four sisters, Irene, Ogie, Jessie and Daphnee.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Darlena L. Sexton and her husband Nathan of Emporia, Kansas; and Donna Sue Clark and her husband Robert of Quasquenton, Iowa; brother, Doyal Lee Burrow and his wife Margie of Enid, Oklahoma; sisters, Darlene Salder of Perkins, Oklahoma; and Ina June Mitchell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Old George Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma.
Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
