DORIS LEE BURGET
1926 - 2013


Doris Lee James Burget, Edmond, Oklahoma, resident was born on July 9, 1926, in Sparks, Oklahoma, and departed this life on April 21, 2013, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years.
Doris was the daughter of Homer and Letha Johnson James.
She married George Burget on August 12, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
While George pursued his career in education, they lived and worked in Edmond, Stroud, Britton, Chandler and then back to Stroud. Before her retirement, she was working side by side with George as a Middle School Secretary.
Doris loved all sports, and always supported her children and grandchildren in the activities they participated in. She loved cross stitch, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, and quilting, having spent many hours over the years making hand-made quilts for her family. She enjoyed the simple things in life like working in her flower garden, pulling weeds in the yard, reading newspapers, completing her Sunday School lesson, listening to talk shows on the radio, watching the news and sports on TV, and spending time with the ladies from her Sunday School Class.
Her parents, husband, and one brother, Kenneth, preceded Doris in death.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Grant Burget of Vinita, Oklahoma and Barry and Suzanne Burget of Edmond, Oklahoma, one daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Rick Bollenbach of Edmond, two sisters and brother-in-law, Charlsie Weston of Midwest City, Oklahoma and LaVern and Stan Collins of Aurora, Colorado, seven grandchildren, Warner, Madeline, Grace, G. W., Blake, Bryce and Kylie, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank her physicians, nurses, and staff for the care that was given to her over the last 25 years.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond.
The Burget family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, April 26, at 9:00 a.m.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma, followed by a memorial service at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond at 2:00 p.m.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
