1939 - 2008
Frankie Lee Looney Britton, age 69 of Parkland, went to her new home in Heaven, Saturday afternoon, December 20, 2008 at her home.Frankie Lee Britton was known as Auntie, some knew her as Frankie Lee, and some knew her as Abbie or simply Nan. She was born on January 20, 1939 in Agra, Oklahoma the daughter of Herman Elgan and Georgia Brewer Looney.She grew up in the Cushing-Agra areas where she also attended school.She was united in marriage to Don Britton on October 28, 1956. Following their marriage they lived in San Antonio and Colorado Springs before moving back to Parkland where they have lived since. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006.She was baptized on November 15, 1952 by Brother Clinton Smart into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.She enjoyed cooking for her family and her church family. Frankie enjoyed taking care of others and spending time with her club friends. Frankie especially loved spending time with her family. She formerly owned and operated “Apple Abbie’s” in Agra. She enjoyed her Apple and Bell collection.Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Don; sons Bryan Britton and wife Beverly of Ingalls; Darin Britton of Cushing; daughter Vickie Weigel and husband Mike of Edmond; adopted sons Heath Britton and William Britton both of the home; brothers J. W. Looney and wife Gladys of Bakersfield, California; Darrel Ray Looney and wife LaWanna of Cushing; sisters Vera Stevens of Agra; LaVern Lane and husband Jack of Stillwater; Phyllis Berry of Arlington; Bobbie Jean Burnett of Perkins; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Crystal Gale Britton, brothers James Looney and Clifton Looney.Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing and will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at Parkland Church of the Firstborn with Brother Randall Wright and Brother Richard Wright officiating.Interment will follow in the Parkland Cemetery.
