RUBY IRENE BRIGHT
1916 - 1997
Meeker resident Ruby Irene Garrett Bright died Saturday in Oklahoma City at the age of 81.Mrs. Bright was born March 16, 1916, in Olustee, Oklahoma, to Herbert and Ida Simmons Garrett.She married Donald J. Bright on January 8, 1936, in Anadarko, and was a member of the Baptist church.Survivors include her husband, Donald Bright, of the home; a son, Donald Joe Bright, of Meeker; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Donna and Ronald Lofton of Meeker; Carol Sue and Ruben McKenzie of Blanchard; Claudia Ann Wall of Oklahoma City; Paula and Robert Hulstine of Meeker; two brothers, Ernest Garrett of Casper, Wyoming; and Loyd Garrett of Eufaula; two sisters, Velma Roe of Springdale, Arkansas; Bonita Ritz of Amarillo, Texas; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.Mrs. Bright is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother, and granddaughter, Sabrina Ann McKenzie.Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker with the Rev. Jim Blair officiating.Burial will be at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Meeker.Visitation will be at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Meeker until noon today.Published November 25, 1997.
