CLARA IDA BRAUER
1923 - 2015
Clara Ida Brauer was born on June 25, 1923, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, in Prague, at the age of 92.
Clara, the daughter of George Max and Alma Selma Heinzig Brauer, was a resident of Prague.
She worked in receiving at The Haliburton department store in Oklahoma City for many years. She left Haliburton and took a job with the US Postal Service where she retired as a mail sorter. She proudly boasted of often times having the fastest scores of all of the other sorters in the post office when the job performance tests were run.
Clara never had children, as a result her eight nephews and one niece were her life. She was always present at important events in their lives.
Clara's parents and brother, William Brauer, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sister, Helen Hand of Prague; sister-in-law, Betty Brauer of Prague; niece, nephews, and their spouses, Roger and Dorothy Brauer of Stroud, Glen and Paula Brauer of Prague, Robert and Sherrie Brauer of Weleetka, LaDonna and Rob Landrum of Claremore, George and Meredith Hand of Prague, James and Lisa Hand of Prague, John Hand of Prague, David and Marlene Hand of Prague and Richard and Pat Hand of Prague; numerous great nieces and nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Sharon Capron and Rev. Derrek Belase officiating.
Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
