1920 - 2010
Ida Caroline Oestmann Bobo passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the Colonial Estates Care Facility in Guthrie, at the age of 90 years.The daughter of the late Fred Oestmann and Anna Meyer Oestmann, Ida was born on February 13, 1920 in Avery, Oklahoma. She lived her whole life within a five mile radius of her birthplace until moving to the Colonial Estates in Guthrie.Ida was united in marriage to Lonnie Bobo on September 18, 1943, and to this union two children, Carl and Lucille “Luci” were born. Lonnie preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage.She worked in the Happy Valley/Stroud School for many years.She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church; she loved her church and church family and considered the church to be her strength and support for her daily life. She was well known for her coconut cream and pecan pies that she would bring to pot luck dinners. She enjoyed gardening, watching humming birds and all types of hand work including, embroidery, quilting, and making pillow cases for her friends and family.Survivors include her two children, Carl Bobo and his wife Carolyne of Germantown, Tennessee; and Lucille “Luci” Perdue and her husband Larry of Edmond, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Craig Hutson and his wife Mershon of Germantown, Tennessee; Brad Bobo and his wife Amy of Owasso, Oklahoma; LeeAnne Redmer of Seattle, Washington; Adam Hutson of San Diego, California; Carla Moreland and her husband Michael of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Sara Perdue of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Justin Perdue and his wife Shannon of Edmond; three great-grandchildren, Ryann and Bryce Hutson of Owasso, Oklahoma; and Grace Moreland of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; and other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lonnie Bobo; two brothers, Arthur Oestmann and Reinhart Oestmann; four sisters, Magdalena Wolff, Laura Rogers, Lilly Oestmann and Esther Ewen and a host of other dear relatives, friends and neighbors.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Cheryll Armstrong-Kaukis officiating.Burial will follow in the church yard cemetery.
