THOMAS EDWARD BEAVER
1927 - 2006


Thomas Edward Beaver was born on June 30, 1927, in Sulphur, Oklahoma.
Thomas and his family then moved to Oregon, where he spent his youth. As an early adult, he moved to Arizona where he married Barbara A. Cooksey at Florence, Arizona in July of 1950. The family made their home in Arizona where Thomas worked for the 26 Bar Ranch as a farmer for over 25 years. Thomas moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1978 where he has resided since.
He is described as a man that enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to spend time planting and growing vegetable gardens and flowers. He is especially known for growing wonderful cucumbers and tomatoes and very large sunflowers. He was an avid fisherman and spent a lot of time fishing at the Cimarron River. He loved to spend time with his family and especially enjoyed being around children. He was a very giving and tenderhearted man that would do anything he possibly could to help others. Thomas is also remembered as a man with a great sense of humor.
Thomas passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Stillwater Medical Center. He was 78 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Barbara Gates of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; seven children, Judy Rowden of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Larry Beaver and wife Loretta of Winfield, Kansas; Laura Martinez and husband Albert of Elemdorf, Texas; Gerry Beaver and wife Shirley of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; Donald Beaver and wife Andrea Dawn of Stroud, Oklahoma; Christen Boger and husband Edward of Glencoe, Oklahoma; Sherry Schultz and husband Marvin of Perry, Oklahoma; one sister, three brothers, twenty grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Services for Thomas Beaver will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Tryon Cemetery in Tryon, Oklahoma. Bro. Don Russell will be officiating.
Visitation will be held at Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home in Stillwater on Saturday, January 7, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday January 8, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The family will be available to meet with friends on Saturday, January 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The family has entrusted Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home with the services.
