ELLIS ESKIL BAYS
1904 - 1997
Shawnee resident Ellis Eskil Bays died Friday at a local nursing home. He was 93.He was born June 6, 1904, in Antlers, the son of William Thompson and Nova Susan Leach Bays.He married Lula May Bays on October 12, 1924, in Chandler.He was retired from Parks Hatchery.Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille and R. J. Farrell of Vian, Eva and Leonard Rogers of Shawnee amd Doretha and A. G. Harrell of Bentonville, Arkansas; sons, Floyd Bays of Shawnee and Bill Bays of Choctaw; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Joanna Bays of Oklahoma City; fourteen grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous friends and loved ones.Preceding him in death were his wife, Lula May Bays, in 1996, his parents and one son.Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. today at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks.The Rev. Percy Jerkins will officiate.Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.Published September 6, 1997.
