Waymon Lloyd Barrett, age 52 of Cushing, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Cushing.Waymon was born on October 17, 1959 in Cushing, Oklahoma to the late Elmer Lloyd and Virgie Corene Pruitt Barrett.He grew up in rural Perkins and attended Perkins-Tryon schools.Waymon married Gladis Wright on March 5, 1977. To this union one daughter was born.Gladis preceded him in death in 1993.He was a self-employed painter, cooked and owned numerous restaurants for many years.Waymon married Tammy Hackett in 1995.He was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.Waymon enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved being with his family and taking care of them. He loved to make people laugh.Waymon is survived by his wife Tammy of the home; daughter Chrissy Corter and husband Tristan of Cushing; April Kesler of Cushing; sons Jon Barrett of Stillwater; Yancy Wright and Reesa of Parachute, Colorado; Adam Corter of Perkins; Justin Rodgers of Edmond; and Tyler Quinn of Oilton; brother Michael Barrett of Perkins; and sister Sheilla Camren of Perkins; grandchildren Colten, Nathan and Jayden Corter, Solara Wright and Liloian White-Mitchell.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Gladis and son, Casey Wright.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Cushing.Brother Anthony Sloate and Brother Richard Wright will officiate.Interment will follow at Flynn Cemetery, Cushing, Oklahoma.Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
