ROSEZELLA MAE BARNETT
1923 - 2007


Rosezella Mae Mardock Barnett, age 83, a Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday morning, 6:12 a.m. on February 20, 2007 at the Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa.
Rosezella was born to James Robert Mardock and Sarah Kellem Mardock on June 10, 1923.
She was raised in the Ripley, Perkins area and later moved to Cushing.
She was united in marriage to Jesse F. Barnett Sr. on March 5, 1940 in Yale, Oklahoma. To this union were born, Charles Robert Barnett, Jesse F. Barnett Jr., James Edward Barnett, Sherry Ann Barnett and Darrel Wayne Barnett.
She lived and raised her family in Cushing, Oklahoma.
Rosezella, an extremely busy and professional homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and cooking. She was well known for her expertise in baking a large variety of delightful pastries. Mrs. Barnett was an avid reader and was able to indulge herself in this passion as her children left home and were married. At the Cushing library, she was recognized by voice alone, because of over 50 years of reading a countless number of books.
Rosezella was a very strong believer in God and the Christian faith. Her grandfather was a Preacher at the Quaker, now known as the Friends Church and followed those ideals throughout her life.
Survivors are her children, Sherry Barnett Stinnett and husband David of Cushing; Jesse F. Barnett Jr. of Wellington, Kansas; James E. Barnett and wife, Ana of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; grandchildren, James E. Barnett II of Washington D.C.; Jeff Barnett, David Stinnett and Kenny Barnett all of Wichita, Kansas; Lori Cox of Stroud; Dana Jackson of Edmond; Brenda Stinnett of Winfield, Kansas; sister, Mina Mardock Suttles of Cushing; brother, Paul Stillwell of Broken Arrow and seventeen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse F. Barnett Sr., sons, Charles Robert and Darrell Wayne Barnett, sisters, Lillian Wilson and Leatta Jenkins and brother, Vernon Mardock.
A private service was conducted for family members. Arrangements were entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing.
