1964 - 2016
Michael Wayne Barnes was born April 25, 1964 in Oklahoma City and passed away August 26, 2016 in Oklahoma City at the age of 52. He was the co-owner and operator of Wellston’s Track Shop Unlimited.Mike graduated from Western Heights High School in 1982. He was a coach for Little League Sports in Wellston.His passion was 1st his Lord and Savior, music, horses and his dog Pistol... Mike played the drums in a band since the early 1980’s.He loved his grandchildren and children who will always remember his for his papa cheese, papa sketti and papa candy. He never met a stranger and was loved by all for his sense of humor and infectious smile.Mike was preceded in death by his father, Walter Dee Barnes, Jr.Survivors include his wife, Sandy Valley of the home; children, Cody Barnes of Wellston, Tyler Barnes and his wife Tarranda of Guthrie, Ross Barnes of Wellston, Frank Valley, Jr and his wife Julia of Choctaw, Nick Valley of Newalla, Samantha Valley of Midwest City, parents, Robert and Patricia Hoban of Wellston, five grandchildren, Kayla, Brinley, Kiera, Nevaeh and Baylor; siblings, Jeff and his wife Michele Barnes of Tupelo, Mark Hoban of Elm Creek, Nebraska, Kelly Holt of Newalla and Beth Hendriks of Newberry Florida, and many other family and friends.A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at the Wellston High School Gymnasium with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
