BOBBY LEE BANKS
1931 - 2012
Bobby Lee Banks was born on October 9, 1931, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, September 24, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 80.Bobby, the son of John and Selma Scott Banks, was a resident of Oklahoma City.Bobby married Myrtle Price on March 8, 1948 in Norman.Bobby's life was spent as a salesman, however he was also a great carpenter with equal skills as an auto mechanic. He applied that logic at home, by teaching his son, as well as his daughters, how to do carpentry work and how to work on cars. The true light in his life however was his wife, Myrtle, with whom he had celebrated marriage four times. Three different anniversary celebrations included renewing of vows.He was a 62-year member of the Queen City Lodge #192 of the IOOF.Bobby was preceded in death by his parents and his one brother, Melbourne J. Banks.Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Myrtle, of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Mary Jane Banks of Oklahoma City, daughters and son-in-law, Sybil Fay Johnson of Oklahoma City and Deborah Kay Vargas-Puebla and Albert of Corpus Christi, Texas, nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a brother-in-law who was like a brother Rufus "Bud" Price.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague with Rev. Burnice Turpin officiating.Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery in Prague.
