1925 - 2000
Blanche C. Bishop Bailey died Wednesday in a local hospital. She was 75.She was born on September 7, 1925, to Willard C. and Pearl E. Lyons Bishop.She attended Meeker High School, where she was active in the athletic program.Mrs. Bailey was a waitress and retired from the Holiday Inn in Shawnee. She also worked for several years at Van's Pig Stand and the Cinderella Hotel.In 1951, she married David Quantz. She married Thomas Lee in 1987. After his death, she married James Bailey.She was a member of the Assembly of God church and had lived in Shawnee since 1967.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Lee and James Bailey, both parents, two brothers, Carl Bishop and Orville Bishop and twin sisters, Minnie and Linnie Bishop.Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and David Strouse of Broomfield, Colorado; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Joanne Quantz of Shawnee and Peter Quantz of Shawnee; and three sisters, Loretta Kincaid of Hillsboro, Missouri, Olpha Woods of Springfield, Missouri and Wanda Lee of Shawnee.She is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael Quantz Jr., Bethany Perry of Ada, Joshua Strouse of Broomfield, Colorado, Jenna Quantz of Shawnee and Sara Quantz of Shawnee and two great-grandchildren.Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Living Word Church. The Rev. Clifton Briscoe will officiate.Burial will be in the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks. Arrangements are under the direction of Gaskill-Owens Funeral Chapel.Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 2442 N. Walnut, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73105.Published October 13, 2000.
