MAYNARD LEROY AVERY
1916 - 1999


Sparks resident Maynard Leroy Avery died Sunday at his home. He was 83.
Mr. Avery was born on September 13, 1916, in Oklahoma City, to Gethfred and Alma Hedrick Avery.
He married Angie Vie Hill on October 3, 1936, in Oklahoma City.
He worked with the Schannell and Cook Commission Company at the Oklahoma City Stockyards for twenty four years.
He served with the Ski Troops in the infantry during World War II and was a member of the American Legion.
Mr. and Mrs. Avery moved to Sparks in June 1956.
Avery was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, a sister and two granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Angie Vie Avery of Sparks, two sons, Marshall Lee Avery of Depew and Randall B. Avery of Wisconsin; a daughter, Clara May Mitchell of Wyoming; brother, Orville Avery of Oklahoma City; sister, Edith Durant of Oklahoma City and five grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the White Dove Cemetery in Sparks under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Chandler.
