James Ralph Andrew was born on March 14, 1930, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, April 10, 2014, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 84.James, the son of Jim Loyd and Ella Pliva Andrew, was a resident of Prague.He married Frances Turner Andrew on February 11, 1950, at the Little Baptist Church.He proudly served his country in the United States Army.James retired from Tinker Air Force Base where he worked as a jet engine mechanic. He also worked as a service manager at Teape Ford for over 11 years.James enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening, tractors and building cabinets.His parents and sister, Norma Bland, preceded James in death.Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Frances Andrew of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, James Michael “Mike” and Sindy Andrew of Jenks and David Wayne and Kerri Andrew of Earlsboro; daughters and sons-in-laws, Sharon Andrew Stephens of Prague and Anita and Mike Bertram of Tecumseh; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Marclyn McGinnis of Oklahoma City; brothers-in-law, Tom Turner of Prague and Bobby Bland of Prague; other family and friends.The Andrew family will receive friends on Friday, April 11, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Deer Creek Baptist Church in Stroud with Pastor Mike Haines officiating.Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery.
