SHELDON J. ANDERSON
1923 - 2006
Sheldon J. Anderson, long time Cushing resident, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2006 at Linwood Village in Cushing at the age of 82 years of age after a long illness.The son of the late Oscar and Elsie Anderson, Sheldon was born on July 9, 1923 in Parkland, Oklahoma. He was the last remaining child of this couple’s six children.Sheldon has lived in Cushing since returning from serving in the US Army during World War II.His work in concrete and brick masonry was well respected by all who knew and worked with him over the years. He had a passion for gardening and for his prize winning pecans. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by family and friends.He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Christine of almost 60 wonderful years; two devoted daughters, Joyce Anderson and her husband Tom Runnels of Orlando, Florida; and Kathy Sanders and her husband Russ of Danville, California; one grandson, Brian Sanders of Stillwater; as well as other relatives and friends.Friends are invited to attend the service to remember this special man at the First Church of God, 501 N. Noble in Cushing on Thursday, February 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Kevin Clouse officiating.Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery.
