ROGER WILLIAM ANDERSON
1917 - 2008


Roger "Andy" Anderson was born on July 15, 1917, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and flew home to his Heavenly Father on Friday, October 3, 2008 in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 91.
Roger, the son of Barrett Samuel and Violet Isabelle Lawson Anderson, was a resident of Prague, Oklahoma.
He married Rosella Elizabeth Gray on April 5, 1940, in Elam, Pennsylvania. She preceded him in death on September 28, 2008.
Roger was a member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge No. 120, A.F. & A.M. George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia, and a long-time member of the Prague United Methodist Church.
He worked for the FAA as an air traffic controller. Later in his career as a civilian employee with the United States Air Force, he worked as a radar specialist in Germany. After retiring from Tinker Air Force Base, he began his own business, Anderson Aircraft. Andy was a licensed private pilot, flight instructor and airplane mechanic. Rebuilding aircraft was his passion.
His parents and one sister, Elizabeth MacLean preceded Roger in death.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Ginger Anderson of Tulsa; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Hollis Lackey of Arlington, Texas; Mariel and Jerry Hill of Oklahoma City; brother and sisters-in-law, Frank Gray of Pennsylvania; Dorothy Baldwin of Pennsylvania; Ruth Ross of Florida; Pearl Wright of Pennsylvania; Emily Snyder of Pennsylvania; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made in memory of Roger to: Prague Memorial Hospital, Drawer S, Prague, Oklahoma 74864, or Prague United Methodist Church, 7901 NBU, Prague, Oklahoma 74864.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., at Prague United Methodist Church in Prague with Rev. Dyton Owen and Rev. Sharon Capron officiating.
Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
