JOHNNIE HARSHELL ANDERSON
1932 - 2001
Johnnie Harshell Anderson died Sunday at his Shawnee residence. He was 69.He was born April 21, 1932 in Hugo.He was reared around Spencerville, Oklahoma, and moved to Shawnee in 1966.He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a bricklayer for Austin Construction Co.On August 8, 1967, he married Phyllis Gouker.Mr. Anderson was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled Amberican Veterans.Preceding him in death were his parents.Survivors include his wife of the home; stepsons and stepdaughter-in-law, Junior and Helen McLaughlin of Ninneka, Oklahoma; and Lonnie McLaughlin of Shawnee; daughters, Diane Johnson and Lou Dalkstrand; grandchildren and their spouses, Timmy and Christine McLaughlin of Chickasha; Johnnie McLaughlin of Shawnee; Lloyd and Sally McLaughlin of Shawnee; and Michael McLaughlin of Chickasha; three great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and numerous friends.Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Guy Cagle will officiate.Burial will be in Gable Cemetery, east of Meeker.Arrangements are under the direction of Roesch-Walker Funeral Chapel.Memorials may be made to Hospice of Shawnee.Published May 8, 2001.
