1925 - 2013
Christine W. Hyde Anderson, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2013, in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 88 years.The daughter of the late Isaac Hyde and Violet Patterson Hyde, Christine was born on January 31, 1925 in Alabama and was raised and educated in the Opelika area, graduating from Opelika High School.She was united in marriage to Sheldon Anderson on May 30, 1946 in Opelika, Alabama, and to this union two daughters, Joyce and Kathy were born.Sheldon preceded her in death on February 20, 2006.Christine was a longtime member of the First Church of God.She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, cooking and canning.Survivors include her two daughters, Joyce Anderson and her husband Tom Runnels of Orlando, Florida and Kathy Sanders and her husband Russ of Danville, California; one brother Alsey Hyde and his wife Jeannette of Notasulga, Alabama; three grandchildren, Brian Sanders of Stillwater; Sallie Sacker of Oklahoma City; and Mike Runnels of Oklahoma City; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Irving and Thera Underwood.Funeral services will be Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Davis Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Clouse officiating.Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery.
