RAY ALLISON
1963 - 2013

Ray Allison, a longtime Agra area resident, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 in his home at the age of 67 years.
The son of the late John Allison and Bessie Davis Allison, Ray was born on April 19, 1946 in Randolph County, Arkansas.
He was reared and educated in Arkansas before moving to the Rockford, Illinois area for several years. While in Illinois, Ray built and raced stock cars, a hobby he continued doing once he moved to Cushing, Oklahoma in the late 1960's.
He worked as a welder and as a truck driver, working for Cushing Lumber, Miller Trucking, and Skinner Tanks. Ray eventually retired as a truck driver and began farming and raising cattle full time. Ray also owned and operated the R & C Tire Shop in Agra which he later sold it to his son.
Ray was united in marriage to Carolyn {Fuqua} Howard on December 29, 1979 southwest of Cushing.
The couple eventually made their home south east of Agra. In his spare time Ray enjoyed coon hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. But some of Ray’s greatest times were spent with his family and friends. Many will remember him for his famous meats he always smoked and his 4th of July Fish Fries.
Ray is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; one son, Mike Howard and his wife Deneen of Ripley, Oklahoma; two daughters, Angie Johnston and her husband Sonny of Cushing, Oklahoma; and Sue Bickell and her husband Tom of Perkins; one sister, Joye Obarts of Pocahontas, Arkansas; one brother Wayne Allison and wife Carolyn, seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by four sisters, Geneva Looney, Beatrice Odom, Iva Mae Witcher, and Melveda Murray and two brothers, Hubert Allison and William Allison.
Condolences and an online guestbook are available at www.PalmerMarlerFH.com.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the First Baptist Church, Agra, Oklahoma with Pastor Tommy Trott officiating.
Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
