VILA BELLE ALEXANDER
1918 - 2008
Vila Belle Edmonson Alexander, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on June 6, 1918, in Wellston, Oklahoma, and departed this life on March 24, 2008, at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 89 years.Vila Belle was the daughter of Peter Allan and Bertha Delight Fillman Edmonson.She graduated from Chandler High School in 1935.Vila Belle married Wayne Hawkins Alexander on September 20, 1939, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.She worked 31 years as a customer accounting clerk for Oklahoma Natural Gas and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, American Legion Auxiliary, Daughters of the American Revolution, Okiebegos and Texhoma Travelers.Her parents, husband, two sisters, Louise Acord and Eileen Peterson, one brother, Thurman Edmonson, preceded Vila Belle in death.Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rita and Terry Abair of Tempe, Arizona, Joanne and Kenneth Parrott of Okeene, Oklahoma, four grandchildren, Megan Bauman and husband Christopher of Denver, Colorado, Benjamin Abair of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rachel Parrott of Texoma, Oklahoma, Joelle Parrott of Denver, Colorado, two great-grandsons, Connor and Travis Bauman of Denver, Colorado, two brothers, Vern Edmonson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Clarence Edmonson of Sapulpa, Oklahoma as well as other relatives and many friends.Expressions of sympathy may be made to First United Methodist Church Choir, 122 W. 10th Chandler, Oklahoma, 74834.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, with Rev. Sungsu Hwang officiating.Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.Services are under the direction of the Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
