ELDA OESTMANN

September 18, 1926 - December 10, 2017

Elda Oestmann formerly of Grainola passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Muskogee, OK She was 91 years of age. Elda was born September 18, 1926 in Avery, OK to George and Viola Grother Wolff.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the St. John's Lutheran Church in Newkirk, OK with Pastor Mark Mozeik officiating. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Avery, OK with Visitations Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Arrangements are in care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK.

Elda graduated from Kendrick High in 1944 and went to Edmond, OK to learn to teach school. After taking a 2-week course she was certified to teach School. She met the love of her life Alfred A. Oestmann and on December 2, 1945 they were married and made their home on the farm in Grainola. Elda worked on the Family farm and ranch with her husband while raising a daughter. Elda enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and organ, playing cards with pinochle and pitch being her favorites. Elda attended the St. John's Lutheran Church in Newkirk, and she was a member of the Garden Club of Newkirk and the Newkirk Meals on Wheels. Later she moved to Muskogee to be closer to her daughter due to her failing health.

Survivors include: 1 daughter: Phyllis Kindle and husband Jerry of Fort Gibson, OK 2 sisters: Ruth Naegela and Leila Oestmann both of Ponca City, OK 2 grandsons Jay Kindle and wife Lori of Claremore, OK and Jeff Kindle of Muskogee, OK, 2 great grandchildren: Hunter Kindle and Macy Kindle also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Alfred in 1990 and 1 brother; Harold Wolff.
