Gail Fay Godwin

Gail Fay Godwin was born November 30, 1974 to Alice Mae McTasney and Clarence "Turk" Godwin.

During her youth, Gail attended Stroud Public Schools. Gail received her bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She was baptized and became a member of Jesus First Baptist Church.

During Gail's free time she enjoyed watching old TV shows like the Golden Girls, Gunsmoke and Bonanza. She also enjoyed football and was an avid Oklahoma Sooners fan and a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. It was no secret that Gail was very glamorous from her hair, makeup, nails and accessories. She was a nurturer and enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and neighbors. Gail had a very special relationship with many of her nieces and nephews. She had a green thumb and loved her plants, many referred to her as the plant whisperer.

On September 20, 2022 Gail departed this life gaining her eternal wings. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother, aunt and a dear friend Jim Beaird.

Gail is survived and leaves to forever cherish her memory 2 beloved sons Sahlamon Godwin of Dallas, TX and Tyrell Godwin of Leavenworth, KS; 5 sisters Winifred Gay Godwin-Foster of Stroud, OK, Sherry Simmons of OKC, OK, Melinda Walker of Kansas City, MO, Florence Star Godwin of Dallas, TX and Alicia Harness of Kansas City, MO; 1 brother John "Toy" Godwin (Armintha"Te") of Stroud, OK.

Also leaving to cherish her memory are uncles Wilford (Constance) Anderson of Ada, OK, Bobby (Marcia) Godwin of Moberly, MO, Harold Punch Jones of Wichita, KS and 1 aunt Toni Godwin of Bristow, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends.

Service to honor Gail will be Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 11:00 am at Jesus First Baptist Church in Stroud, OK. There will be a come and go visitation Thursday, September 29, 2022 and Friday, September 30, 2022 from 8am to 8pm at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Stroud.
