Warnetha Mary Pruitt Simek

Warnetha Mary Simek was born March 9, 1938, in Meeker to Warner and Loretha (Hignite) Pruitt. She passed away August 1, 2026, in Chandler at the age of 88.

Warnetha resided in Lincoln County all her life. She told many stories of adventures had with her parents. They kept busy by always doing things around the farm. She attended Meeker Schools. She had several jobs, but she most enjoyed working in restaurants. She and Jimmy owned a restaurant for a few years in Kellyville before moving to Chandler.

Warnetha loved her boys tremendously. She enjoyed spending time with her family and doing artwork, gardening, tending to her flowers and her birdfeeder. She was a member of Faith Believers Church for 26 years. Then became the co-founder of Charity Ministries for 18 years.

Warnetha was preceded in death by her parents, Warner and Loretha Pruitt, son, Gary Wayne Burger, sister, Georgia Stowers, brothers, Reggie Pruitt and Paul Pruitt.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Jimmy Simek; son, Clyde Burger and wife Debbie of Chandler, daughter-in-law Debbie Burger of Prague; grandchildren, Lisa, Leroy, Eugene, Mary, Amanda, Corey, Clyde II, Michael; 16 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of friends.

A funeral will be held at 10:00 Thursday, August 6, 2026, in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following at the Forest Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
