JIMMIE POSPISIL JR.
1909 - 1997
Longtime Prague resident Jimmie Pospisil Jr. died Wednesday in Shawnee at the age of 88.He was born January 11, 1909, in Prague, the son of James and Mary Smika Pospisil.He had lived in Prague until moving to Shawnee three years ago. He was a retired farmer and rancher.He married Clara Vobornik on October 1, 1931, and they recently celebrated their 66th anniversary.He was a member of Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Odd Fellow Lodge of Arlington, Oklahoma, Prague Round-up Club and former president of ZCBJ Lodge 46 in Prague.Surviving are his wife, Clara Pospisil, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Brenda Pospisil, Woodward; daughter, Betty Jo Terrell, Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Rose Marie and Weldon Watkins, Odessa, Texas; sister, Lizzie Jezek, Prague; sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Emil Kucera, Borger, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Ralph Pospisil, Bill Pospisil, Joe Pospisil; son-in-law, Barrett Terrell, an infant brother and an infant sister.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church.The Rev. Mike Raines will officiate.Burial will follow in the Czech National Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
