John James Nykl, Jr


1918 - 1990

John James Nykl Jr., age 72, died March 9, 1990 in Oklahoma City.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois and was a veteran of World War II.

He came to Oklahoma City in 1950. He was president of the Czech National Cemetery, member of Lodge Laska 109, past president of Oklahoma Fraternal Congress, and retired from Western Union and Frisco Railroad.

Mr. James is survived by his loving wife, Elma; son, John III and his wife, Yvonne J. Nykl of Dallas; daughter, Joan and husband, Guy Bryant, Oklahoma City; sister, Elsie Ciner, Chicago; grandsons, Todd A. Bryant and John J. Nykl of Dallas; granddaughters, Lisa Bryant, Oklahoma City; and Tiffany Nykl of Dallas.

Donations may be made to the Czech Cemetery.

Evening prayer service 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Smith & Kernke Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Interment Czech National Cemetery.
