EDWARD KUBICEK
1915 - 1998


Edward Kubicek of Tecumseh died Tuesday in Shawnee at the age of 83.
He was born October 1, 1915, in Pottawatomie County to Joseph and Agnes Kubicek.
A resident of Pottawatomie County most of his life, he lived in Tecumseh for 47 years.
He married Mary Thelma Fox and she preceded him in death in 1970.
He served in the U.S. Army at Anzio during World War II and was awarded a Bronze Star.
He worked at Tinker Field for 29 years, retiring in 1979 as a jet engine mechanic.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Shawnee.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Joe and Bill Kubicek, and one sister, Rosie Luther.
Surviving are his son, Mike Kubicek, Prague; three sisters, Emma Miller, Prague; Lilly Saulsberry, Broken Arrow; Hermie Dawkins, Exceter, California; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Czech National Cemetery in Prague.
The Rev. Edward Long will officiate and arrangements are under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
