1928 - 2006
Henry George Kolar was born on July 19, 1928, in Sparks, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, December 21, 2006, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 78.Henry, the son of Frank and Frances Smika Kolar, was a resident of Oklahoma City.He married Betty Ruse on June 4, 1977 in Midwest City.Henry retired from the City of Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation Maintenance Department.He was a member of the Church of Christ.His parents; one brother, Frank Kolar; and three sisters, Hattie Fortune, Lillian Nance, and Emma Mills, preceded Henry in death.Survivors include his wife, Betty Kolar of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Meloney and Terry Willix of Brevard, North Carolina; Francina Kolar of Oklahoma City; Amanda Kolar of Oklahoma City; brothers and sister-in-law, Arthur W. Kolar of Chandler; Alfred and Ruby Kolar of Shawnee; two grandchildren, Joshua Parker and Joel Brady; other relatives and many friends.Memorials may be made to the Dean McGee Eye Institute Vision Research, 608 Stanton L. Young, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104-5065, in the name of Henry G. Kolar.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at 10:00, at Del City Church of Christ in Del City, Oklahoma, with Taylor Cave and Marty Kessler officiating.Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Czech National Cemetery in Prague, Oklahoma.Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.A guest book is available to share your memories online.
