Timmy Marcell Young

Timothy Marcell Young was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma February 25, 1959 to Alfonza Giles and Hazel Lorene Young. Timmy was the baby out of 13 children, raised by his loving Aunt Anna IV and Olie Long.

Timmy accepted Christ at a very young age and was a member of the Church of the Living God of Wellston, Oklahoma. He attended Wellston Public School, graduating with the class of 1977. After high school he attended college in Tonkawa at Northern Oklahoma. He received a broadcasting degree. He then continued his education at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma where he received a bachelor’s degree.

After graduating he became an elementary school teacher at Hoarse Mann in Shawnee. He retired following 24 years of teaching. He was loved by all of his students many of whom he coached soccer, basketball and baseball at the YMCA. He enjoyed these sports, but most of all he enjoyed coaching the kids. He was respected and loved and will be remembered by all for his leadership, passion, and kind spirit.

Timmy departed from this life on October 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gloria Jean McMurry. He leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings, Louise Young Stewart, Gary Young, Karen Young Miller and her husband Bruce, Keith Young, Carletta Giles Mentz, Renée Giles, Lavonne Giles, a very special kind of brother, Kelvin Kearney and his wife Marena, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Viewing for Timmy will be November 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. with his family receiving friends from 4:00 – 6:00. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Everett Wallace officiating and interment following in the Clearview Cemetery in Chandler. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
