Marjorie Steward was born August 22, 1925 in Grant, Oklahoma to Virgil and Edna (Campbell) Kitchens. She passed away September 22, 2017 in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the age of 92.
Marjorie grew up in south east Oklahoma where she graduated from Grant High School. She earned her associates degree and taught school during World War II. She met Kenneth Stewart on August 3 and they were married a later that month on August 23, 1945. During their 72 year marriage, they rarely spent time apart from each other.
Marjorie loved her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and other family. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working crossword puzzles, dominoes and card games. She often spent time shopping at Anthony’s and Cato’s.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Edna; son, Kenny Lee; and sister, Pauline Beall. Survivors include her husband of 72 years, Kenneth Steward of the home; daughter, Donna Kaye and her husband, Ron Vantine of Carney; (2) grandsons, Craig Wensler and his wife, Misty; Jeffrey Wensler and his wife, Janelle; (4) great-grandchildren, Blaine Wensler and his wife Ellen, Bailey Wensler, Jace Wensler, Jordan Wensler; along with other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Lehman Funeral Home chapel with interment following at the Carney Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
