Betty Jo Stanka, 95, passed away early Monday morning, April 3, 2023, surrounded by her family in Carney, Oklahoma.

Betty Jo was born on New Years Day, January 1, 1928, in Corwin, Kansas to Roy F. and Grace (Haxton) Clark. She graduated from Rocky K-12 school in Rocky, Oklahoma. On February 7, 1946, she married Johnie William Stanka in Cordell, Oklahoma. In 2005, they moved from Dill City, Ok. to Carney. Johnie preceded Betty Jo in death in 2006.

Betty Jo enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader. She loved to bake, especially anything sweet.

Betty Jo was a faithful Christian. She attended the First Baptist Church in Carney and Carney Assembly of God Church and most recently, Successful Word Church, Warwick, Oklahoma.

Betty Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Johnie Stanka; her parents, Roy and Grace Clark; her daughter, Sandra Kay Whitten; and 3 siblings.

Survivors include her daughter Randy Chaney and her husband, Larry; grandchildren, Jerry Goodwin, Marc Chaney and his wife, Kandee, John Christian and his wife, Temperlyn, David Chaney, Tina Reidenback, and Jackie Whitten and his wife, Cindy; son-in-law, Jack Whitten; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family members and friends.
