Gwendolyn K Harris (Hardy), age 62, passed away on January 21, 2018 at the Stillwater Medical Center with her family by her side. A visitation will be held at Strode Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the Carney Cemetery, Carney, OK. The Reverend Michael L. Chace will officiate.
Gwendolyn was the daughter of Eldon and Helen (Martin) Hardy. She was born October 26, 1955 in Stillwater, OK. She graduated from Carney High School with the Class of 1974.
Gwendolyn was raised in the Lincoln - Payne County area. It is here where she met and fell in love with her husband to be, Steven R Harris. They became quite the couple from the 7th Grade until Graduation in 1974. They married on May 22 in a tiny Courthouse in Hot Spring, AR.
She spent her entire life working hard to provide for her family, being a caregiver to others. Even during her 4 ½ year battle with Cancer her focus was on the needs of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Helen Hardy; Uncle and Aunt Gene and Gladys Hardy, Uncles Kenneth Reid and Vernon Langley; her husband’s parents, Richard and Jacqueline Harris
She is survived by her husband Steven of the home; two daughters; Kelli Blue and husband Dennis of Arcadia, OK, Vickey Peugh and husband Chris of Perkins, OK; 1 son, Randy Harris of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Alex Blue, Avery Blue, Andrew Blue and Isy Peugh three sisters, Wanda Willy of Texas; Cynthia Tripp of Chandler, OK and Karen Terry of Cushing, OK; one brother; James Eldon Hardy his wife Sara of Mustang, OK; Brother-in-laws, Mike Harris (Connie), Richard Harris, Danny Harris, Jeff Harris (Linda), Greg Harris (Marsha); Aunt Earlene Langley of Perkins, OK; her Uncle Bill Townsend of the Oklahoma City area; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to Thank the Staff of Stillwater Medical Center Home Health and at Judith Karman Hospice for their care in her final days.
