The History of Cardwell Family Cemetery
© Evelyn Park and Laura Good

There are only two known family cemeteries located near Chandler. One is called the Cardwell Family Cemetery because the only tombstone still legible marks the grave of two small children, Winnie and Cora, who died May 13 and May 21, 1891, respectively. This would have been before the Territory was opened for settlement later that year.
This burial plot is located in the Southeast corner of the southwest quarter of section 10-14-4.
There appears to be other graves nearby marked only by native stones. This location is on top of a hill on East 15th street at the southeast edge of Chandler.
