Toni Marie Cox Carter

Toni Marie Carter was born July 6, 1958 in Hamburg, Illinois to Tony and Theo (Morris) Cox. She passed away September 27, 2023 in Tulsa at the age of 65 surrounded by family and friends.

Toni grew up in the Davenport and Chandler area where she attended school graduating with the Davenport High School Class of 1976. She was incredibly loving toward her family and friends but valued all people and was willing to help anyone in their time of need. Toni loved her family and was especially devoted to the little ones Ashlyn, Kambyr and Nick. She was a long-time active member of the Kendrick Community Church and the Davenport Assembly of God before that. Toni worked many years at Kwikset in Bristow, OK and NAICO in Chandler, OK and developed many deep, long-lasting friendships through the years. She was a kind, loving, caring woman with the biggest heart who will be deeply missed.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Theo Cox; brothers, Orville Lewallen, Charles Cox; sister, Diana Easley; sister-in-law, Sandra Brooks-Cox; and her nephew, Nicholas Robledo. Survivors include her husband, Butch Smothers of the home; daughter, Valerie Cox of the home; siblings, Ron and wife Valorie of Illinois, Mary Duran of Chandler, Kenneth Cox and wife Kathy of Davenport; along with many other extended family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held Friday from 4pm to 6pm at Lehman Funeral Home. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Kendrick Community Church with interment following in the Bethel Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
