Olin Howard Wright, 84, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 from 2-6pm at Dighton Marler Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 10:30 am at Avery Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma. Family is requesting everyone who attends to please have masks and social distance. Dighton Marler Funeral Home of Stillwater is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Rick Wright, Brandon Wright, Jarod Wright, Noel Wright, Matt Frazier and Charles Thomas
Olin was born on June 21, 1936 in Lincoln County, Oklahoma to Howard N. and Irma Mae (Biswell) Wright. He grew up in Lincoln County and graduated from Cushing High School. He joined the National Guard and he married Shirley Gladden on December 21, 1957 in Lincoln County. Olin was a fun loving man and loved to play pranks on people. He was a great father, grandfather, brother and friend. Olin drove a truck for Allied Refinery and starting milking cows in 1974.
Olin will be most remembered for are all the years in the Rocking W Farm Dairy business southeast of Cushing and traveling the country showing dairy cattle and winning many local, state, and national awards. Olin and Shirley managed and operated the dairy farm from 1974 until May of 2019 when Shirley and Olin both suffered strokes causing them to retire.
He is preceded in death by his spouse of 61 years Shirley, his parents H.N. and Irma Wright, his son Nick Wright, three grandchildren and his sister Helen Robinson.
Olin is survived by his children, Randy Wright and wife Rhonda, Steve Wright and wife Terrie, Brenda Hoffer and husband Galen all of Cushing, OK. and daughter-in-law, Deanna Wright; his grandchildren, Ricky Wright, Matt Frazier, Brandon Wright, Jarod Wright, Amber Wright, Nathan Wright, Nicholas Wright, Noel Wright, Nichole Wright, Nolin Wright, Alysa Wright, Hannah Crawford, Nathan Robertson, Marc Robertson, Johnna Thomas, Heather Carnaghy, and Krista Rockow; 37 great-grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. He is also survived by his siblings Glen and Mary Lou Wright, Maxine Helton and Linda Mulder.
