William "Bill" Leroy Dingman Sr., passed away on December 16, 2022 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 84. Bill was born on January 10, 1938 on the family farm in Stroud. He was the son of Donald "Pappy" and Susie (Foster) Dingman. Bill grew up in Kendrick, where he attended school at Baker and Kendrick High School. After high school, Bill went to work at the tractor store in Cushing, Abercrombie and the Stroud Airport, before finding his true passion as a heavy equipment operator. Bill worked for many years for Hills Dozer Service, Quapaw and helped lay pipeline with his father from coast to coast.
When he wasn't working, Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, especially at the lake. Bill enjoyed boating, especially at Stroud Lake. Bill also had a special place in his heart for animals. He would often care for injured and orphaned animals. Each one he cared for was spoiled and loved.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna (Pinion) Dingman, whom he shared four children; his wife, Roberta Taylor Dingman; his daughter, Teresa (Dingman) Faulkner; his son-in-law, Don Faulkner; three brothers, James "Jim" Dingman, Dave Dingman and Ronald Dingman and two sisters, Mary Sue Dingman and Ardith Paterson.
He is survived by two sons, William "Lee" Leroy Dingman Jr. and his wife, Debbie and Tim Dingman and his wife, Brenda; one daughter, Sheila Green and her husband, Doug; one brother, Donald "Dean" Dingman and his wife, June; fourteen grandchildren, Brandi Spoon and her husband, Christopher, Ashley Fox and her husband, Austin, Caiti Hamilton and her husband, Jared, Robyn Gentry and her husband, Robert, Chris Tipton, Eric Dingman, Nathan Dingman, Donna Dingman, Gayle Gilman and her husband, John, Jeffrey Dingman, David Faulkner, Dawn Rene Edmondson and her husband, Andrew, Savannah Green and Rhett Green. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
