H. G. Armstrong, 76, of Talihina, passed away Nov. 3, 2008 in Talihina. He was born Aug. 28, 1932 in Meadowview. He was a heavy equipment operator.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Beulah Armstrong; sisters, Violet McNutt, Sybil McKosky, and Gladys Scoles; a brother, Mack Armstrong; a son Kenneth Armstrong; and a daughter, Jaylene Armstrong.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Wanda, of the home; son and daughter in law, William and Gerri Armstrong of Hot Springs, Ark.; daughter, Jolene Armstrong of Warner; grandson, Alexander Armstrong of Warner; sister, Alpha Westerdahl of Federal Way, Wash.; brothers and sisters in law, Robert and Faye Armstrong of Talihina, Larry and Judy Armstrong of Talihina, Johnny and Ruby Armstrong of Eufaula, Leonard Armstrong of Tulsa, Jack and Patti Armstrong of Broken Arrow; numerous friends, relatives and loved ones.
Funeral services will be Saturday, 2 p.m. at Springhill Baptist Church, Monroe, with Rev. Cecil Holcomb and Rev. Brian Vandever officiating.Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery in Monroe.
Pallbearers will be Clay Armstrong, Tony Armstrong, Mack Armstrong, Bobby Shirley, Warren Shirley, and Tommy McNutt.
The family will be at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday evening to visit with relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jaylene Armstrong Scholarship, Eastern New Mexico University, Portales, NM. Evans & Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, is in charge of arrangements.
