Rosie Mae Cheely, 94, of Panama, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in Poteau. She was born March 25, 1907 in Alma.
Ms. Cheely was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Calhoun. She loved fishing, crocheting, sewing, gardening and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband C.C. (Pete) Cheely; and a grandson, Danny Miranda.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and George Reidel of Carson City, Nev.; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Donnie Cheely of Panama; six grandchildren, Sherryl Miranda of Gulf Port, Miss., Charles and Patricia Cheely of Van Buren, Bennie and Nancy Cheely of Panama, Richard and Tonia Cheely of Shady Point, Jimmy and Brenda Cheely of Panama and Janice and Derrell Harrison of Poteau; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Goldie Guin of Shady Point; numerous other relatives; loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Jason Cheely, David Cheely, Dusty Cheely, Derrick Cheely, Bennie Cheely Jr. and Carl Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Tiffee and Nick Williams.
