Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 28, 1998, at the Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, Oklahoma, for Mrs. Evelyn Johnson. Reverend Steve Hughes officiated. Mrs. Johnson was born on February 12, 1910, and passed away on August 26, 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Johnson. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Johnson and Jerry Johnson; one daughter, Wreatha VanStockem; two brothers, Ray Keith and Walter Keith; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; other relatives and loved ones, and a host of friends. Evans and Miller Funeral Homes of Poteau, Oklahoma, and Pocola, Oklahoma, were in charge of interment.
