Veronica "Faye" Lee Ward of Talihina, Oklahoma passed away from this
life Friday January 20, 2017 at the Manor Nursing Home in Talihina,
Oklahoma at the age of 68.
Faye was born February 8, 1948 in Honobia, Oklahoma to Rubin and
Melvina (McKinney) Ward
Raised by Rubin and Aline (Potts) Ward
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, step mother Aline and
nephew Cecil Ward.
Faye is survived by her sister Lodi Herndon and brother in law
Richard Herndon. Nephew Calvin Ward and special friend Debbie
Dalpoas, nieces Doris Winlock and husband Lance and Jessica King and
husband Bryan. Three great nephews, six great nieces, six great
great nephews and two great great nieces.
Faye was a very caring Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Sister in Law. She
took care of everything that needed care. She was known for her
homemade biscuits (they were the size of a cats head)! If you needed
a hog or a deer butchered she could do it and made it look easy! She
loved blackberry cobbler and wild onions! She always knew the best
places to fish and hunt for squirrels. She could do anything from
cooking in the kitchen, helping the mechanic to get the race car
ready for Saturday night races to clearing land with just a weed
wacker, machete and an axe! She was not afraid of hard work.
Her favorite past time was taking care of all the animals, most
especially her dog Cheyenne. No matter how bad she was feeling she
always asked about everyone and Cheyenne. She will be missed by all,
not just for her hard work and homemade biscuits, but by all the
love and care she gave to us each and every day.
Graveside services will be held at the GoodSprings Methodist
Cemetery Friday January 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm followed by fellowship
at the Whitesboro school cafeteria. Officiating by Margie Jones.
