Charles David Beam, 70, of Bokoshe, passed away Sept. 10, 2009, in Bokoshe.

He was born Feb. 3, 1939, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was retired from Baldor Electric and a veteran of the U. S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Bessie Moore; his father, Closan Beam; a brother Lewis Beam; and a granddaughter, Talisha Beam.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Beam of the home; three daughters, Connie and husband Lee Hilton, Tammy Beam and Wendy and husband Ron Darneal, all of Bokoshe; three sons, Daniel Beam and Tonia and David Beam and Marcela, all of Bokoshe, and Gary Beam and Sarah of Cushing; his mother, Helen Cox; brothers Johnnie Beam, Eugene Beam and Jimmy Beam, all of Pocola; two sisters, Virginia Burr of Bakersville, Calif., and Helen Marie Halbrook of Trinity, Ala.; 20 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, with Rev. Steve Adams officiating. Interment will be in the Beam Family Cemetery, Bokoshe.

Pallbearers will be James Moss, Keith Beam, Mike Beam, Robert Gillooley, Mike Gillooley and Thomas Gillooley. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and Jeff Lovell.

The family will be at the funeral home for visitation Monday from 5 until 7 p.m. for visitation.

Evans and Miller Funeral Home, Poteau, is in charge of arrangements.
