She was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Bengal. She was a homemaker and was one of the oldest living members of the First Baptist Church in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ben B. Smedley, and a son, Don.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and LaVern Smedley of Smithville; a daughter-in-law, Charlsey Smedley of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Donald Paul Smedley of California, Kenneth and wife, Dawn Smedley of Pocola, Joe and wife Rebecca Smedley of Smithville, Charla and husband Sean Lawson of Orlando, and Kathy and husband Gary Roland of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.Funeral services were conducted Monday at 10 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion in Poteau with Rev. Phil McGehee officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery.
