Cornelia K. McKinney, 86, of Poteau, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, in Little Rock, Ark. She was born July 11, 1915 in Williams to William A. and Eely (Bond) Davis.
She was a 50+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a businesswoman in the Poteau area for over 25 years, an antique dealer and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Poteau.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Carver and Eva Thrasher; an infant brother; and her husband, W. J. McKinney.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, William J. Jr. and Shelba McKinney of Roland; four grandchildren, Joseph Lindsey McKinney of Perryville, Ark., Christopher Bryan McKinney of Roland, Wesley Jacob McKinney of Russellville and Jamie Leann McKinney of Roland; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Tanner of Poteau; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
The family will be visiting with friends and relatives at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Larry Gaston officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
