Hugo Grant Wegert was born Dec. 19, 1918 to Frederick Augustus and
Anna (Hamann) Wegert in DeWitt and passed away Feb. 25, 2010, in
Fort Smith at the age of 91.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beulah Evalyn (Tidwell)
Wegert of the home; two sons, Frederick Lee Wegert and wife Melba of
Bokoshe, Okla., and Carl Julian Wegert and wife Debbie of Spiro;
four grandchildren, Ranata Hatcher and husband Mark of Bokoshe,
Okla., Karen Sloan and husband Chris of Stigler, Casey Snodgress and
husband Christopher of Kiefer, Okla., and Amanda Ballinger and
husband Gary of Stigler; and six great-grandchildren, Chase and
Kensey Hatcher of Bokoshe, Daylee and Daycen Sloan of Stigler and
Trenton and Cordale Ballinger of Stigler.
Hugo was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Victor, Paul and Julus Wegert; and nine sisters, Alice Scott, Louise Robertson, Daisy Bullock, Mabel "Mamie" Ax, Gertrude Phillips, Violet Smith, Esther Miller, Marguerite Robertson and Manna Mae Wegert.
Pallbearers were Julian Wegert, Mark Hatcher, Chris Sloan,
Christopher Snodgress, Gary Ballinger and Chase Hatcher. Honorary
pallbearers will be Lary Carver, David Colwell, Robert Harper,
Charles Wells and Jessie Wilsie
