Thelma Corene (Daney) Winlock, age 96 of McAlester, OK went to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 1st, 2016. She was born June 13, 1920. She was under the care of Heartland Hospice at her home.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Community Baptist Fellowship Church, 14th & Comanche St, McAlester, Ok. Pastor Ed Garrett will be officiating the service. Committal rites will be at 3:30 p.m. at the New Talihina Cemetery, Talihina, Ok. Funeral Services are under the direction of Chaney Funeral Home of McAlester, Ok.

Thelma was employed as a Nurses Aid and Certified Medication Aid in Nursing Homes for 31 yrs. She also worked as a Home Provider for 25 yrs. She loved her work and was a faithful dedicated worker.

Thelma was a member of the Community Baptist Fellowship Church and served as Secretary for many years. She was a former member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Talihina, Ok for which she served as secretary and treasurer. She was very active as Sunday School Teacher, WMU Director and Acteens Director.

Thelma was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and attended school at Goodland Academy, Hugo, Ok.

Thelma was an avid OU Sooner football fan. Her greatest enjoyment was reading the Bible and fellowship with others. She was an inspiration to many. She also enjoyed keeping current with modern electronics and current affairs.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Winlock, sons, Phillip & Warren Winlock, daughter, Margaret Winlock, parents Solomon & Mary (Jefferson) Daney, step son Kenneth Winlock, step daughter, Eunice Bruce.

Thelma is survived by daughters: Marilyn Parker, Sherrel Mitchell, Cynthia Bailey, Barbara Dunlap & husband, Harold, Carmen Parker & husband, Ron, Patricia Ann (Wesley) Chowning & Reta (Wesley) Davis; step daughters: Nadine Tucker, Doris McMurrian & husband Roy and, Carolyn Adaith & husband Corky; sons: Stuart Winlock & wife Judy and Harry Winlock; and, stepson: Kelly Winlock & wife, Teresa. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchilden and great great grandchilden.

Pallbearers will be: Daniel McFarland, Brian Dunlap, Tony Winlock, Justin Fiester, Evan Staples & Doug Bailey.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Patrick, Aaron and Jacob Dunlap, Jonathan Cannon, Joshua, Ronnie & Wesley Winlock.
